Healing Hearts: Embracing God’s Presence Through Loss

loss

Question–How can you cope with the loss of someone you love? Is there hope?

Story Bible Boost with Rosanne (Listen to audio above)

God feels very sad. He feels our pain, and he feels sorry for us. When he put the man and woman in the Garden of Eden, his plan was for them to live happily ever after. But when Adam and Eve sinned, death came through disobedience. You can read the whole story in Genesis 2:7-17/3:1-24.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (ERV)

16 The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the people who have died and were in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive at that time will be gathered up with those who have died. We will be taken up in the clouds and meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with the Lord forever.

This verse is good news! The hope for all of us who have lost our loved ones is that we will see them again and we will be reunited and happy forever and for eternity.

What verse is key to feeling peace when you are in pain?

Matthew 5:4 (ERV)

Great blessings belong to those who are sad now. God will comfort them.

Psalm 46:1 (NIV)

Great blessings belong to those who are sad now. God will comfort them.

Only in Christ Jesus and in his word can we find peace, comfort and Hope that gives us relief from our pain in the most difficult moments of our lives.

3 Tips to Trust God and Find Hope: Let’s Make It Fun!

Nature Walks with God: Step outside and breathe in the beauty of nature. Take a leisurely stroll in the park, hike up a scenic trail, or simply sit by a tranquil lake. As you immerse yourself in the wonders of creation, open your heart to God’s whispers in the wind, His embrace in the warmth of the sun, and His love reflected in every living thing around you.

Heart-to-Heart Journaling: Grab a journal and pour out your heart to God. Write down your thoughts, feelings, and prayers—no holding back. Let your pen dance across the pages as you express your hopes, fears, and dreams. And here’s the fun part: sprinkle some doodles, stickers, or colourful markers to add a splash of joy to your journaling journey.
