God feels very sad. He feels our pain, and he feels sorry for us. When he put the man and woman in the Garden of Eden, his plan was for them to live happily ever after. But when Adam and Eve sinned, death came through disobedience. You can read the whole story in Genesis 2:7-17/3:1-24.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (ERV)
16 The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the people who have died and were in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive at that time will be gathered up with those who have died. We will be taken up in the clouds and meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with the Lord forever.
This verse is good news! The hope for all of us who have lost our loved ones is that we will see them again and we will be reunited and happy forever and for eternity.
